Digital Principles and System Design

About the Subject :

Digital electronics or digital (electronic) circuits are electronics that handle digital signals - discrete bands of analog levels - rather than by continuous ranges (as used in analogue electronics). All levels within a band of values represent the same numeric value. Because of this discretization, relatively small changes to the analog signal levels due to manufacturing tolerance, signal attenuation or parasitic noise do not leave the discrete envelope.

Topics to be covered in this Seminar :

Number Systems –  Binary Codes – Boolean Algebra and Theorems - Karnaugh Map and Tabulation Methods – Logic Gates -Combinational Circuits –   Decoders and Encoders – Multiplexers and Demultiplexers –  HDL Models of Combinational circuits.Sequential Circuits – Latches and Flip Flops – State Reduction and State Assignment – Shift Registers – Counters – HDL for Sequential Logic Circuits.Asynchronous Sequential Circuits – Reduction of State and Flow Tables – Race-free State Assignment -RAM and ROM – Memory Decoding – Error Detection and Correction – Programmable Logic Array – Sequential Programmable Devices – Application Specific Integrated Circuits.
